In the aftermath of the 1979 Iranian Revolution, all music was banned except for one voice- Maestro Mohammad Reza Shajarian. For the first time in his own words, we hear the life story of a man who decided to stay in a country and navigate the tumultuous waters of censorship in order to be the voice of the people and save the music before it was completely erased.
The film is the directorial debut of Iranian filmmaker Mandana Biscotti. It features appearances by several Iranian notables in the Arts and Academia. The score is by three-time Academy Award-nominated composer J. Ralph, whose credits include Man on Wire, The Cove, Virunga, Racing Extinction, and Jim: The James Foley Story.
